While Mumbai swimmers were to the fore in most of the events, Pune’s Yuga Birnale joined the band wagon of record-breakers as she beat the field with a record-breaking efforts in the girls group I (15-17 years) 200m individual medley in Maharashtra State age group aquatic meet organized by the jointly by Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association and Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association at Goregaon Sports Club here today. Yuga timed 2:33.83 secs to better her own last year’s timing of 02:37.95 secs.
Armaan, who had broken two records on the opening day, was again in his element as he swept the field to win record-breaking gold in the boys group III 200m individual medley with a timing of 02:34.88 secs.
In the boys group II, Aaryan Bhosale won his second record-breaking gold in the 50m back stroke as he shared the day’s honours with Yuga and Armaan. while Siddharth Sanke won the 50m Breast Stroke in the group II category for his second record-breaking efforts, having earlier won 100m Breast Stroke on the first day.
