MUMBAI: Lanky lefthander Yashashvi Jaiswal, a Mumbai under-16 lad, hit up unbeaten 135 as MCC (Red)defeated Twisters Sports Club by 163 runs to remain at the top of the table in the five-team double-leg Twister-MCC-Pro40 League-season-3 at the Oval Maidan here today.
Opening the innings after MCC (Red), Yashashvi batted fluently and hit 12 fours in his century knock. Others to provide him adequate support were Shubham Singh (26) and one-down Shaban Shaikh (25) as they hit up 256 for five. In reply, the Twisters SC were never in the picture and were bundled out for 93 with Vishal Adagatla (5/20) and edium pacer Jitendra Paliwal (3/35) sharing the spoils.
There was an upset in the other tie at the adjacent plot as MCC (Green) upset MCC (Blue)’s bit for top honours. Thanks to Ajinkya Belose (50 not out) and Charudatt Patil (40), MCC (Green) scored 207 for eight in the allotted quota. Chasing such a big score, MCC (Blue) just failed to make a match of it and were dismissed for 108.
