After a topsy-turvy performances during the league phase, where favourites tumbled, Borivali Warriors and Juhu Heroes emerged best in their respective pools to contest the final of the SAI-Mumbai Masters T-20 League, powered by Paradigm Reality, tomorrow (Saturday) at the Police Gymkhana’s floodlit ground, Marines Lines.
Even the ultimate finalists, the ‘Warriors” too were jolted by bottom-placed Bandra Busters in pool ‘A’ while the ‘Heroes’ suffered defeats twice – to Santacruz Crackers and hot favourites Shivaji Park Superstars – before emerging at the top of pool ‘B’. For the Borivali outfit, their opener Shahen Mistry, was the most consistent with the bat with scores of 64, 48,0, 114, 40, 58 and 64 to amass 388 runs –the highest among all the participants. While for the Heroes, it was Pratik Patil, who too had a century to his credit ended with 334. As for bowling honours, Rahul Bhadreshwara , Roshan Ade, Yogesh Patel (all with 13 wickets ) and Kailesh Chavan (12 wickets) excelled.
In the semifinals, Paradigm Borivali Warriors had beaten Shivaji Park Superstars by 33 runs,while Juhu Heroes thrashed Worli Pitch Smashers by six wickets.
