Veteran singer and musician Bhupinder Singh known for his popular songs ‘Dil Dhoondata Hai…’,’ Naam Gum Jayega…’, ‘Do Diwane Sheher Mein…’ & others, passed away yesterday evening. He was 82. He is survived by wife Mithali and a son.
Besides playback singing, Bhupinder was also a guitarist and had performed for several popular tracks. He along with his wife Mithali had produced many private music albums. He was specialised in ghazals. Bhupinder had made his debut in Hindi films as a playback singer through 1964 film ‘Haqeeqat’, when he had sung the song ‘Hoke majboor mujhe….’ Along with other popular playback singers of that period Mohammed Rafi, Talat Mehmood and Manna Dey.
