Legendary Srilankan fast bowler, Chaminda Vaas, who was the chief guest lauded the efforts of Mumbai Cricket Club and Jwala Sports Foundation for their effort in grooming youngsters at the annual Mumbai Cricket Club awards function was held at their at MCC 365° Cricket Academy, Thane (West), yesterday.
Mr Chaminda Vaas, who alongwith former India opener , presented the prizes to the trainees in various age groups, for their exceptional performances during the various local tournament jointly organised by by MCC and JSW. He exhorted the youngsters to put in a lot of hard work to enhance their chances at the next level.
Both Vaas alongwith Wasim Jaffer, former Indian opener, also gave a pep talk to the boys to continue to work on their physical and mental fitness. Mr Jwala Singh, the director of the Academy and Mr Vinayak Samant, former Mumbai Ranji Trophy coach also spoke to the trainees. Mr Devashish Bakshi and Mr Tirupathi Shekelli, chairman of Worli Sports club also had a work of appreciation for the organizers for the . efforts to organize such training camps for the boys of various age groups.
The Awards – Best batsman of the year : Ayaz Khan (represented Mumbai under- 19 and under-25 team and was selected for Challenger Trophy for India A team): Best bowler : Aman Maniyar (Represented Mumbai under -19 coach Behar trophy). Best wicketkeeper : Ved Prakash Jaiswal (Selected for Mumbai under-19 team).

Under-10: (Best batsman and bowler) –Agastya Kashikar. (Emerging player) – Shardul Joshi.
Under-12: (Best batsman) – Aarav Thaker. (Best bowler) – Aaryan kumar. (Emerging player) – Yash Sagvekar.
Under-14 :(Best batsman) -Amanat Husain. (Best bowler) – Aarav Shrivastava. (Emerging player) – Abhinandan Chavan.
Under- 16 :(Best batsman)– Ankush Paswan.(Best bowler)– Narendra Yadav. ( Emerging player– Pratik Chavan.
Under-19: (Best batsman)-Ayaz Khan. (Best bowler) – Anuj Giri. (Emergingplayer) – Awais Khan.
Under-23:Best batsman– Yash Ramchandani. (Best bowler) – Zaid khan (Emerging player) – Nitin Vishvakarma.
