Middle order attacking batsman Adeeb Usmani was in cracking form and his century knock of 134 runs lifted Parkhophene Cricketers to 371 all out in 83.5 overs in their first innings (90 overs) against Payyade Cricket Club on the opening day of their three-day final of the Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd sponsored 71st Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2018, and played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Saturday.

Put into bat first Parkhophene batsmen batted confidently and opener Amogh Bhatkal (62 runs) and number four bat Prasad Pawar (49 runs) gave momentum to their innings. Later, Usmani took charge and showed good nick as he plundered 12 boundaries and seven sixes during his 181 balls knock which came in 114 minutes.

 

Payyade managed to restrict the Parkhopene total as medium pacer Badri Alam Khan (5/98) and leg spinner Parag Khanapurkar (2/58) got the crucial wickets.

 

In the only one over possible, Payyade scored three runs without loss. Openers Hersh Tank (2 runs) and Akhil Herwadkar (1 runs) were at the crease when stumps were drawn ffor the day.
