Udaya Sports Club struck prime form and handed Saraswati Sports Club a 2-0 defeat in a first round match of the 16th Adv. A.R. Kudrolli Memorial Knockout Football Tournament 2023-24, organized by the Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) and played at the KSA ground.
In a keenly contested encounter, Udaya players showed better understanding and enjoyed more possession and called the shots against the Saraswati outfit who managed to create only a couple of chances. Udaya scored their opening goal through Aamir Shaikh and later Mohit Gatti struck the second goal to complete the win.
In the second match of the day, Satya Vijaya Sports Club had things much their own way and enjoyed complete dominance as they stormed to a 3-0 win against Shree Krishna Sports Club. Strikers Alroy D’Souza, Atharva Shetty and Dhanesh Shetty all contributed with a goal each to secure Satya Vijaya’s victory margin.
Later, Star of Canara Sports Club worked hard to overcome a determined Jaibharat Sports Club by a 2-0 margin. Both the teams played an open attacking game, but Star of Canara did well to convert the chances that came their way and strikers Raunak Killinger and Brandon Picardo scored a goal each to complete the win.
