Maharashtra’s top seed Rahul Baitha put up a splendid show as he outplayed his statemate Araash Mehta 11-8, 11-3, 11-4 to storm into the boys undere-19 semifinals in the 7th JSW-All India Sunil Verma Memorial Squash Championship held in the JSW Squash Academy, at Vasind (Thane) today. In fact, junior events, in the boys in the under-11, under-13, under-15 categories saw most the spots in the last four were taken by the state players. However, second seeded Anuj Unadkat, who won a tough battle earlier in the pre-quarters, had to concede the tie to Delhi’s Jaideep Singh Sethi , as he was unwell.
The Delhi sisters – Amira Singh, the top under-17 seed (right) and Anahat Singh ,under-11 top seed, put up impressive show in the 7th JSW-All India Sunil Verma Memorial Squash Championship.
In the girls section, Delhi’s sisters, Amira Singh, the top seed, in the under 17 and her younger sister Anahat, the under-11 top seed, put up impressive show as both sailed into last four in their respective events with fine victories.
