WIFA Inter-District football
Thane District, Kolhapur District and Nashik District, all comfortably won their respective league matches in the Sub-Juniors girls’ competition of the WIFA Inter-District Football Championship 2019, played at the Palghar Taluka District SA ground, Boisar.
Riding on Jhanvi Dhale twin strikes Thane District 4 ( overcame Beed District 4-1. Vaishnavi Pokale and Harshita Balakrishnan scored the othet two goals for Thane, while Beed pulled one back through Sanchita Dinkar.
In another match, Kolhapur blanked Ahmednagar District 3-0 with Samrudhi Katkole netting a brace of goals and Sanika Patil chipping in with one to complete the win.
In the third game, Grishma Kothari fired home both the goals in leading Nashik to a convincing 2-0 win against hosts Palghar District.
Results: Thane District 4 (Jhanvi Dhale 2, Vaishnavi Pokale, Harshita Balakrishnan) beat Beed District 1 (Sanchita Dinkar).
