Teleperformance Sports Club and Mumbai Port Trust were engaged in a keen tussle for supremacy, but there was not much to separate between the two teams and the match finished in a thrilling and high-scoring 3-3 draw in a Super (Corporate) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Wednesday.
For Mumbai Port Trust strikers Lavesh Patil, Ashish Vishwakarma and Yash Potdar, all contributed with a goal apiece, while Teleperformance was well-served by ace foreward Karmesh Pakori who struck a brace of goals while Manish Yadav chipped in with one.
In a First Division encounter, Miners Sports Club proved too good for Jupiter Sports Club and charged to a 4-1 win. Combining well as a team, Miners scored through the efforts of Navneet Palal, Swayam Jain, Ritesh Poojary and Milburn Lawrence to seal the win, while Jupiter SC had taken an early lead through Tejas Pawar’s strike.
Earlier, in a Third Division match, Sundernagar FC were in prime form and blanked West Mumbai FC by a convincing 5-0 margin. Leading Sundernagar’s charge was striker Chanakya Varun who scored two goals while teammates Nishant Kulekar, Hyginus D’Souza and Gaurav Yadav scored one each to round-off the winning tally.
