Mumbai Suburbs’ Tanishq Saxena, winner of the under-13 title, when he upset teammate and top seeded Varun Dave in the final of the Maharashtra state sub-junior badminton tournament last week at Parbhani, has been top seeded in both under-15 and under- 13 singles events in the Bliss Pharma-Maharashtra State Sub-junior week-end badminton tournament, which gets underway at North Indian courts at King’s Circle, here today. While the girls seedings are headed by Nanded’s Ramsha Farooqui in the girls under-15 and Rudra Rane of Greater Mumbai, in the girls under-13 singles. Apart from NIA courts the matches will also be held at Indian Gymkhana, Matunga Gymkhana and Ruia College courts.
The seedings are: Boys U-15: 1. Tanishq Saxena (MS); 2. Vedant Kale (Th); 3. Lakshya Chavan; 4. Sushant Ravva (MS). Girls U-15: 1. Ramsha Farooqui (Nan); 2. Rudra Rane (GMBA); Sankruti Hebelkar (Th); 4. Mihika Thatte.
Boys U-13: 1. Tanishq Saxena; 2. Atharva JoshiOscar Mathews; 4. Harsh Jalumuru. Girls U-13: 1. Rudra Rane (gmba); 2. Tara Shah (PDMBA); 3. Urvi Desai (Th); 4. Haarshada Gawade (BOR).
