Talented Naishaa Bhatoye is top seed in 3 events


Talented teenager Naishaa Bhatoye has the honour of being given the pride of place in three categories. The 15-year-old Naishaa is the top seed in the Women’s singles and Girl’s Under-17, Girls’ Under-19 singles events in the CCI-GMBA Yonex Sunrise District Badminton Championship 2023, to be played at the CCI badminton courts starting from July 9 to 14, 2023.

In the Women’s singles, Naishaa arch-rival Taarini Suri is seeded second while Anagha Karandikar and Samiaa Shah are seeded third and fourth respectively.

In the Men’s draw, Siddhesh Raut is seeded number while the second seed is Yash Tiwari. The third and fourth seeds are Ruturaj Rathod and Ameya Nakashe respectively.

Naishaa and Riya Vinherkar are the number one and number two seeds in the Girls’ Under-17 and Under-19 singles draw.

In the Boys’ Under-19 competition, Piyush Kamble is ranked as the top seed followed by Pranav Kamble who is seeded second. Harshit Mahimkar and Sahil Gurbuxani are seeded third and fourth

Harshit Mahimkar and Angad Tathgir are the top two seeds in the Boys’ Under-17 event.

The six-day tournament, which is being organized by CCI (Cricket Club of India) in association with GMBA (Greater Mumbai Badminton Association) has attracted close to 300 participants who will be competing in 22 different, singles and doubles, events, including Men’s Masters doubles 80+ & 90+ combined age categories and Women’s Seniors 75+ & 85+ combined age categories.
