Junior Swayam Ibrahampurkar, who was in the Mumbai Suburban District team for the Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championships, bagged triple crown in the MCF table tennis league-cum-knock-out tournament, held here at their sports complex at Borivali, here today. Playing at his aggressive best, Swayam downed seasoned Bindesh Chitalia 11-8, 11-7, 11-8. However, Bindesh, though beaten in straight games, put up commendable display overall as he had knocked out second seeded Parth Rambhia 3-2 in the semifinals. Even, in the quarterfinals, Bindesh survived some anxious moments before he overcame lefthander Jyot Vora 3-2, after trailing for most part of the tie..
Earlier, Swayam had won the men’s doubles with Parth Rambhia as his partner. The pair defeated Akshay Gogari and Ameya Bhanushali 10-12, 13-11, 11-6, 11-7. While in the junior boys final, Swayam outplayed Vishesh Sarda in straight games. The women’s final turned out to be quite an engrossing affair with Anupriya Ratadiya overcoming Siddhi Kolekar in a nail-biting tie which went to the wire.
