Swaraa Shirke bags 7 Gold and 1 Silver at S.C.N. Club Swimming Competition 


9 year old Swaraa Shirke bagged 7 Gold and 1 Silver medal at the 29th Seven Services Swimming competition organised by S.C.N. Sports Club, Kandivali today. 70 participants from Goregaon to Dahisar clubs had taken part in 8 groups of Boys and Girls in the age group of 8 to 12 years and 12 to 16 years. Besides seven medals Swaraa was presented with Girls Champion of Goregaon- Dahisar trophy, for her overall performance.

Swaraa, 4th standard student of St. John’s High School, opted for Swimming as sports activity at her school from 2022. This summer vacation she had joined the Swimming Camp at S.C.N. Sports Club under the training of Mr. B.S. Magdum ( Ex- Navy) National Swimming Coach and showed tremendous improvement, with excellence in all types of strokes.

In the Girls 8-12 age group competition, Swaraa bagged 2 Gold medals in 50 meters freestyle and 50 meters backstroke and a Silver in 50 Meters Breaststrokes. However, she went on to bag 5 more Gold medals in higher age group of 12-16 years in following events: 50 Meters freestyle, 100 meters Medley, 50 Meters Breaststrokes, 50 meters backstrokes and 50 meters Butterfly strokes respectively. This was indeed a big achievement for this nine year old girl.
