Miners SC did exceptionally well to prevail over BPCL Marketing by a narrow 2-1 margin in a hard-fought Third Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday. Sushant Phise and Sunil Jacob scored a goal each to help Miners rally to victory after BPCL Marketing had taken the lead through a goal scored by Mahesh K.
In another encounter, FC Mumbaikar riding on goals from Noah D’Costa, Puneet Singh and Anish Bansod overcame Magic Bus Under-19 3-1. Rohit Shinde netted the lone goal for the young Magic Bus outfit.
Result – Div-III: FC Mumbaikar 3 (Noah D’Costa, Puneet Singh, Anish Bansod) beat Magic Bus Under-19 1 (Rohit Shinde).
