Seasoned Suhas Rane played a stellar role in JLTTA (Jayesh Lakhani Table Tennis Academy)’s 3-2 win over Sane Guruji in the premier division league of the Mumbai Suburban District Table Tennis Association, hosted by Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana here today.
After both the teams were tied at 2-all, Suhas played a controlled game to get the better of Rushabh Sawant in the decider 11-8, 11-13, 11-7, 10-12, 11-5. Earlier, Suhas had lost to Jigesh Rahatwal in another close tie 11-7, 9-11, 6-11, 11-6, 10-12.
In other ties, defending champions Andheri YMCA made short work of Kandivali Recreation Club 3-0 and so too last year’s finalists Santacruz Gymkhana’A’, who defeated their junior string by an identical margin.
