Opportunistic striker Nachiket Palav had a field day and scored four goals to guide Milan Club to a thumping 8-0 victory against Shelar FC in a one-sided Group-B league match of the third Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), conducted by the Borivali Sports Foundation under the auspices of the MDFA and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivali (West). Palav’s teammates Ankit Dalvi and Ronak Patel played good supporting roles and contributed with two goals apiece to round off the winning tally.
The dashing forward Palav quickly got on the scoreboard firing home the opening goal in the very eight minute before Dalvi doubled Milan’s lead in the 15th minute. Later, Palav scored two more quick goals in the 22nd and 24th minutes to complete his hat-trick and Patel struck his first goal just before the half-time whistle to give Milan a 5-0 advantage at the break.
The Milan side continued to hold sway on resumption and pumped in three more goals in a span of seven minutes to round off the margin of victory. Dalvi (41st min), Patel (44th min) and Palav (48th min) scored to complete the demolition.
Palav for his impressive efforts claimed the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
