Steadfast FC by virtue of their narrow 1-0 win against Bharat FC sneaked into the final of the ‘MDFA Youth (under-16) Football Challenge 2016, organised and promoted by the Sporting Lions and Mumbai City FC and played at the Shivaji Park, Dadar. Striker Joyson Chettair netted the all-important winning goal to seal Steadfast’s victory.
In the other semi-final match, Our Lady of Fatima scored an identical 1-0 win over Bombay FC to also advance to the summit round. Fatima’s striker Mooen Shaikh struck the lone goal of the match.
