St.Paul lads score big wins


St. Paul, Dadar schoolboys had a field day as both their ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams, in impressive fashion won their respective 2nd round matches of the St. Peter’s Youth Centre organised Inter-School (5-a-side) football tournament supported by Mumbai City FC and played at the St. Stanislaus High School grounds, Bandra.

First, St. Paul’s ‘A’ side scored an authoritative 4-0 win over St. Mary’s SSC, Mazagon. Striker Chinmay Dalvi hit the target twice and Varun Waghela and Maroof Khan added one each to complete the margin of victory.

Later, St. Paul’s ‘B’ outfit, also enjoyed complete dominance as they handed St. Mary’s, Dahisar a 3-0 defeat. Leading St. Paul’s charge was striker Omkar Walawandae who netted a brace of goals and Devarsh Pawar with one to seal the win.

St. Stanislaus, Bandra lads also enjoyed a good run winning both their games. St. Stanislaus ‘A’ side riding on the goals from Parth Sutar and Calvin D’Souza got the better of St. Dominic Savio ‘B’, Andheri 2-0. Later, St. Stanislaus ‘B’ team overcame St. Andrew’s, Bandra 1-0 with Shayne D’Costa scoring the all-important winner.

Super Div: Kenkre FC Under-19 3 (Krishna Vijayan, Alok Chavan, Bent Fernandes) beat Young Boys 1 (Shabaz Ansari).
