St. Joseph’s down Good Shepherd 3-2


St. Joseph’s ‘A’, Umerkhadi were a determined lot and managed to score a fighting 3-2 win against a spirited Good  Shepherd, Andheri in a Men’s Open match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organised Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2022 and to be played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts.

The Umerkhadi were well-served by Atiq Rindani, Denzil Colaco and Akshay Paraya all scoring a goal each to snatch the win. Good Shepherd fought well and managed to score two goals through Shazeb Khan and Clinton D’Souza.

Sacred Heart ‘C’, Andheri rode on the twin strikes from Jardin Braganza to romp to a fluent 4-2 win against Holy Family ‘B’, Andheri. The other two goals came through the efforts of Murad Mohammed and Venkatesh Masurkar, while Holy Family scored through Clyde Fernandes and Nash Henriques.

In a closely contested encounter, St. Joseph’s ‘D’, Juhu got the better of St. Anne’, Bandra by a narrow 1-0 margin to advance to the second round. Ajay Mangela scored the all-import winning goal for the Juhu team.
