Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) inspired by medium pacer Aishwarya Surve’s fiery spell of 5 wickets for just 5 runs, including the first hat-trick of the season, gallantly fought back to record a win, on the basis of the first innings lead, against P.J. Hindu Gymkhana in a ‘A’ Division second round match of the MCA 76th Dr. H.D. Kanga League Cricket Tournament 2023-2024 and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Sunday.
Hindu Gymkhana electing to field did well to dismiss KSA for a measly 74 runs in 34/3 overs. Left-arm spinner Atharva Bhosale 8 for 26 did most of the damage while Atif Attarwala claimed 2 wickets for 15 runs. KSA showed remarkable fighting spirit with the rival batters finding it difficult to deal with Surve’s clever bowling and were dismissed for a low 33 runs in 21.4 overs. Surve who finished with figures (9-6-5-5) claimed three successive wickets in the 15th over to break down the Hindu Gym innings.
