Somalands Juniors worked hard to snatch a fighting 3-2 win against a spirited Olpers SC in an engrossing Men’s First Division match of the 15th Bandra West Football League 2016, sponsored by Baba Siddique & Jeeshan Siddique and conducted by the BWFA (Bandra West Football Association) and played at the Dr. Norman Lewis Supari Talao, Municipal grounds.
In an absorbing and exciting battle, Somlands were well-served by Avinash Ghaiwat, Jeffrey Fernandes and Dayyan Malik, all scoring a goal each, which enabled them to secure the win, while John D’Souza scored both the goals for the losing side.
In another match, Fishermen FC powered by Omkar Chimbaikar’s double strikes blanked Jolly Boys 3-0. Rohan Solanki got the third goal to complete Fishermen’s win.
Meanwhile, Sea View SC and Bandra Packers shared honours as they played out a 2-2 draw in a veteran’s league match. Gavin Vandrine struck a brace of goals for Sea View and Allen Prakash also scored both the goals for Packers.
