Showing good understanding and working like a well-oiled unit Somaiya Vidyavihar SC tamed Alphonso Academy 6-0 in a First Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2016-2017, and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday evening.
Prashant Rawat and Sanket Mayekar, both played stellar roles with two goals apiece, while Tanuj Khatu and Bryan S’Souza scored one each to seal the big win.
Earlier, Pizan Kodia netted the all-important winner as Godrej & Boyce SC overcame YMCA in a well-contested Second Division match.
