Bespectacled hard-hitting collegian Sohan Nirkhe and seasoned stalwarts Bindesh Chitalia and Praful Wagh put up terrific display to help MCF (Mandpeshwar Civic Federation) to top the table of the Division III (Zone A) after finishing their league phase with seven wins and a solitary loss in the annual MSDTTA (Mumbai Suburban District Table Tennis Association) Inter-club table tennis league, played on home and away basis.
Bespectacled hard-hitting collegian Sohan Nirkhe of MCF Borivali put up a good show to help his team top the table of MSDTTA TT league.
The architect of their fine show was 22-year-old collegian stocky Sohan, who missed the opening tie against KRC , which MCF lost. He put up commanding display with his all round aggressive strokeplay to notch up some thrilling victories. His topspin drives and smashes on both flanks had his most of his opponents in all sorts of trouble.
The MCF captain Bindesh Chitalia and evergreen Praful Wagh too, provided excellent support. Especially MCF’s win in their crucial tie against Kamla Vihar Sports Club, which saw Bindesh winning the all-important decider after both were locked at 2-all. In fact, the decider was tensely fought all the way before Bindesh triumphed with 11-4, 14-12, 4-11, 11-6 scoreline.
In the Division II, zone B section , P3 Sports TT Academy emerged supreme as they just swept away their rivals with consummate ease. winning all their 8 matches . Even in the Division II, P3 Sports topped with six out of six wins.
