Socrates XI worked hard to overcome Zig Zag SC by a close 1-0 margin in a Round-3 Group-B match of the Vakola Football League supported by Brian Miranda, organized by the Vakola Sports Committee and played at St. Anthony’s Church ground, Vakola, Santacruz.
In a keenly contested encounter, enterprising striker Allwyn Menezes scored the only goal of the match to give Socrates XI a deserving win and the full three points.
In another closely fought Group-B match, Game Kings got the better of D-Boys by an identical 1-0 margin with striker Alok Chauhan netting the lone winning goal.
