Bombay Gym cricket tournament
Skipper Kevin D’Almeida superb unbeaten half century, 65 runs knock, powered MIG Cricket Club to a fluent 8-wicket victory against P.J. Hindu Gymkhana in a first round match of the Nirlon Ltd. sponsored R.F.S. Talyarkhan Memorial Invitation Cricket Tournament 2018-2019, organized by Bombay Gymkhana, under the auspices of MCA and played at the Gymkhana’s ground.
Hindu Gymkhana asked to bat first managed to amass a decent total of 152 for four wickets from their quota of 20 overs. In reply, MIG Club comfortable achieved the target scoring 156 runs of the loss of just two wickets and with an over to spare.
The left-handed opener Kevin batted steadily during his 53 balls and 109 minutes unconquered effort which included seven boundaries, which helped MIG Club easily cross the finish line. Number four batsman, Swapnil Pradhan also contributed towards the win with a useful 39 runs. Hindu Gym’s medium pacer Mohit Awasthi (2/31) got both the wickets.
Earlier, Hindu Gymkhana was well served by Vikrant Auti 59 (42b, 78m, 6×4) and Sachin Wagh 35 (20b, 37m, 1×4, 2×6) and they managed to set their rivals a modest target of 153 for win. MIG medium pacer Pratik Dabholkar was the main wicket taker and finished with 3 for 19.
