Siddharth,Thrisha record triple treat


GMAAA Sub- Jr and Jr age group  Aquatic Meet

Siddharth Sankhe and Trisha Karkhanis, both from GAF   (Glenmark Aquatic Foundation),were the outstanding performers  on the concluding day, which saw another seven new meet records set in  the Glenmark-GMAAA Sub-junior and junior Aquatic meet, sponsored by Glenmark Aquatic Foundation at Tata Swimming Pool, Chembur, here today. There were in all  19 individual records established in the meet.

Siddharth, who had won gold in the 100m breast stroke on the opening day, added another on the following day with a  50m breast stroke gold and made it  a breast stroke hat-trick by winning the 200m event today.

Similarly, Trisha winner of the 100m backstroke and 200m butterfly stroke on Saturday,  added another gold by clinching the 200m back stroke in the girls 15-17 years age group.  Among others, the Patil twin sisters, Aarti and Jyoti, shared four  record-breaking  feats , while  Otters Aeka Chatra shared the final day’s limelight by winning double record-braking golds in 100m back stroke and 50m butterfly stroke in the girls 11-12 years group.

The final day’s record- breakers  were:

BOYS (Gr I): 200m Back Stroke: Ryan Pnto (Vibgyor) – 02:22.19 secs. (Old record -02:22.31 secs – 2012).  200m Breast Stroke: Siddharth Sankhe (GAF) – 02:35.70 secs. (Old record -02:39.22 – 2014).

BOYS (Gr II): 100m Free Style:  Rudransh Mishra (GAF) – 00:58.75 secs. ( Old record – 00:58.70 secs – 2013).

GIRLS (Gr I): 200m Back Stroke: Trisha Ksarkhanis (GAF) – 02:36.06 secs. (Old record – 02:49.00 – 2013). 200m Breast Stroke : Aarti Patil (PSP) – 02:45.30 secs. (Old record – 02:51.45 – 2015).

GIRLS (Gr III): 100m Back Stroke : Aeka Chatra (Otters) – 01:15.29 secs. (Old record -01:18.24 secs – 2013). 50m Butterfly Stroke: Aeka Chatra (Otters) – 00:32.26 secs. (Old record – 00:32.69 secs – 2015).
