Siddharth Parikh continues to rock


India’s leading billiards player Siddharth Parikh (handicap -650) once again came up with some great efforts by striking another triple century break (327), a double century break (204 unfinished) and two century breaks (113 & 102) in scoring a fantastic win against last year’s winner Rovin D’Souza (handicap -110) by 250- 116 points in the Group ‘A’ round-robin league (race to 250 points) match of the SPG-Park Club Billiards Tournament – 2015, which is being jointly organised by the Shivaji Park Gymkhana and Park Club.

Parikh who touched peak form hitting the highest break of 362 during his win against Avenish Shah in the last game, was in great touch and hardly gave D’Souza any opportunity to fight back. This was Parikh’s 3rd win and he stayed in top position while D’Souza was in second position and both have now qualified for the next phase (prequarter-final) of the competition.

Shivam Arora (handicap -180) scored back to back victories in his Group ‘H’ games. He first defeated Vishal Madan (-400) 250-234 and later defeated Prabdeep Singh 250-130. He won all his 3 games and is number one in the group and Prabdeep came in second position to also qualify for the next phase.

Two other leading billiards players Javieer Dhingra (handicap – 550) and Arun Agrawal (handicap 550) also had good games and created big, useful breaks to win their games. Dhinga scored breaks of 148, 99, 88, 86 and 82 during his win against Vishal Gehani (handicap -120) by a score of 250-95. Agrawal made good efforts of 173, 88, 61 and 52 to defeat Prashant Mhatre (-60) 250-119.

Former champion Rohan Jambusaria (handicap -170) was also on the winning mood by defeating Prashant Mhatre (-60) 250-150.
