Thanks to Shubham Sankusare’s fine efforts with bat, MCC (Green) fought back to upset MCC (Yellow) by 9 runs for their first win after having suffered four defeats in a row in the 6-team MCC Double-Leg Pro-40 league, played at Oval Maidan here. This was cellar team’s first win after four defeats.
Opting to bat first, “Green” hit up 185 with Sbhubham top-scoring with 63 with eight fours and a six. But Chandan Jaiswal’s (7/48) deadly bowling proved futile as “Yellow” fell short by nine runs as they were bowled out for 176 with Satyam Tripathi (3/22) and Lucky Sisodia (2/41) sharing the spoils.
Defending champions MCC (Black), after initial setback, came back strongly to beat MCC (Blue) by 7 wickets, to remain in contention for the top honours. With this win “Black” now head the table with four wins out of five outings.
