Shubham Ambre will be the star attraction in the 5-Star Mumbai City District Table Tennis Tournament, to be conducted and hosted by the Matunga Gymkhana at their table tennis hall from Friday, October 2 to Sunday to October 4, 2015. The young talented Ambre is the top seed in three categories — Junior Boys’ singles, Youth Boys’ singles and Men’s singles events.
The other seeds in the men’s competition are Paresh Murekar who is the second while Saurabh Mohite and Tanmay Rane are the third and fourth seeds respectively.
The women’s contest will be headed by top seed Shweta Parte along with Senhora D’Souza, the second seed. Krisha Agarwal and Ruchira Manerkar are seeded third and fourth respectively.
Over 400 players from Mumbai city will be seen action fighting it out for the top honours in this three-day event, which will be organised under the auspices of the MCDTTA (Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association).
The tournament offers cash awards to the winners and runners-up, while trophies will be presented to the winners, runner-ups and semi-finalists.
The Chief Referee appointed for the 3-day tournament is Sitaram Gamre and he will be assisted by Savio Lobo.
