Collegian Shriya Kolge and Harsh Rana emerged fastest runners as both won their respective 100m women and men’s events in the Poinsur Gymkhana Open athletic championships,held under their annual Uttar Mumbai Krida Mahotsav Sports fiesta, at their gymkhana here today. Shriya, who is state’s 400m hurdles champion, showed her mettle in the 100m sprint, as she won the event in 14.1 seconds.

So too, Harsh, who breast the tape just ahead of of Rahul Kadam, of Gupta Sports Academy, to win the event in 11.30 seconds. For the second in succession, the athletes from Dahisar’s VPM Sports Club called the shots, winning 10 golds out of 31 decided during the day. Sharing the day’s honours with Shriya and Harsh was another VPM girl Kirti Bhoite, who clinched double gold by winning the under-16 girls 100m sprint as well as well as long jump events.
