Shivaji Park Warriors , thanks to the consistent batting by opener Shashant Singh, defeated Thane Marathas by eight runs in a thrilling tie in the Mitsui Shoji t-20 League here today.
Batting first, Shivaji Park Warriors hit up 168 for six with Shashank once again in splendid form. He hammered an unbeaten 69 with nine fours and two sixes. Earlier, Shashank had scored a century, but his side lost. He hammered it 79 in the next and followed it by blistering knock today.Chasing 169 for win, Thane Marathas tried their best, but as the wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, they fell short by eight runs.
In the other tie, Bandra Heroes scored a six-wicket win over defending champions Ghatkopar Jets to stay unbeaten in the league so far. Put into bat first, Ghatkopar Jets made 151 for eight off the allotted 20 overs. Chasing 152, , Bandra boys lost top four batsmen before reaching three figure mark. However, the fifth wicket pair of Aman Khan and Shamsi Mulani, batted aggressively to add 57 runs to steer their side to victory.
