A goal in the third minute of additional period by Anil Pawar helped Shark FC snatch a late equalizer against Konark FC to force 1-1 draw and take the match to the tie-breaker. In the ensuing penalty shootout duel, Shark FC proved better marksmen winning 4-3 to clinch a 5-4 win in a league match of the Colaba Sports League and played at the Cooperage ground.
Prolific scorer Valentine Pereira scored in the fifth minute of the second half to give Konark the lead. But Shark FC fought back strongly and managed to break the Konark resistance in the final moments of the match when Pawar found the target in the third minute of added on time to level the scores. In the tie-breaker, Shark FC successfully converted through Pawar, Mrunal Tandel, Prakash Khatti and Ajinkya Umasare, while Konark FC could only score through Valentine, Floyd Dharmai and Sushil Salvi and ended up on the losing side.
In another league match, that was also decided via the tie-breaker, Shiv Sagar FC prevailed over Hirai Suns 4-3 after the scores were tied 1-1 at the end of 70-minute regulation period. In normal time, Merwyn Stephen was on target for Shiv Sagar and Sushil Kawde scored for Suns. In the penalty shootout, Shiv Sagar scored through Merwyn Stephen, Ritesh Perambra and Nitesh Monde, while Suns converted only two kicks through Sushil Kawde and Akshay Pawar.
