FC Mumbaikars opportunistic striker Shannon Barretto was in outstanding form and notched up a fine hat-trick in leading his team to a comprehensive 4-0 victory against Dadar XI in a Boy’s U-16 match of the Rustomjee-MDFA Yuva President League and played at the St. Xaviers Ground, Parel.

The energetic Shannon also had a hand in the fourth goal scored by teammate Priyobrata Ghosh.
Shannon the spearhead in the FC Mumbaikars attack was all over the Dadar XI territory and put the rival defenders under a lot of pressure. He struck the first goal when he got to the end of Gerald Barretto’s flag kick and coolly tapped in from close and was again on target when he latched onto on Sharav Pathak’s measured through before firing home from the edge of the area.
Shannon then provided the perfect assist for Priyobrata Ghosh who made no mistake in finding the lead to give FCM a commanding 3-0 lead. FCM continued to push forward and Saumitra Mane put Shannon in the clear and he did well to hit the target for the third time and seal their victory.
