Shaikh, Mansoori on target for RBI


Mumbai, June 20: Reserve Bank of India struck two quick goals within the opening five minutes and then hung on to their advantage to register a 2-0 win against Ordnance Factory SC, Ambernath in Second Division match of the MHAL (Mumbai Hockey Association Limited) League 2016-2017 and played at the MHAL-Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate.

The Reserve Bank outfit started aggressively and in the very third minute Aleem Shaikh scored the opening goal from a field effort. Two minutes later, Altaf Mansoori doubled Reserve Bank’s lead from another field goal.

Ordnance Factory fought on gamely and tried their best to get back into the game but they were unable to convert from the chances that came their way and ended up on the losing side.

Earlier in Fourth Division encounters, C.G. Sports and Hockey Kalyan played out an exciting 2-2 draw and later Guru Nanak High School, Koliwada romped to a 6-3 win against Ordnance Boys, Ambernath.

Results – Div-IV: C.G. Sports 2 (Alex Kujur, Pratap Ekka) drew with Hockey Kalyan 2 (T. Rathod, S. Thangaram).

Guru Nanak H.S., Koliwada 6 (Vipin Kushwa, Aakash Gupta, Kartik Bahnot, Annumay Pandey, Nitin Dhika, Ajay Yadav) beat Ordinance Boys, Ambernath 3 (Mamba, Neela, Venkat).

Div-II: Reserve Bank of India 2 (Aleem Shaikh, Altaf Mansoori) beat Ordnance Factory SC, Ambernath 0.
