Shaan, Aman emerge champions


Shaan Navani and Aman Kapur, both emerged champions, winnings the boys’ 12 years and above and boys’ under-10 titles respectively, to claim the Indian Bulls Trophies in the Willingdon Sports Club (Coaching Scheme) Tennis Tournament, and played at the WSC courts on Sunday.

In the final round (one set play-off) match of the boys’ 12 years and above category, Shaan fought back a spirited challenge from Mishaal Thapar to record a close 6-4 victory to clinch the first place honours.

Earlier in the boys’ under-10 competition, Aman prevailed over Yuvaan Talreja by a 6-3 scoreline in the final round (one set play-off) match to emerge number one.

Anjali Patel Mehta clinched the top honours in the women’s competition. She won all her round-robin league matches to finish in pole position ahead of Doris Samardzic, who had to settle for second best.
