Sellebrity FC and Mumbai United recorded contrasting victories in their respective Group-A league matches of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Youth League 2016, promoted by the Sporting Lions and Mumbai City FC and played at the Lions Municipal Sports Complex, Vile Parle, on Monday afternoon.
Striker Zubair Karbhari scored the crucial winning goal as Sellebrity overcame Kapadia Nagar SC 1-0, while Mumbai United proved too good as they blanked Carmelites SC 10-0. Leading United’s charge to victory was Atharva Dhuri and Anirudh Ruke, both netting three goals each, while Chris Fernandes got a brace of goals and Aayush Sudhakar and Pratham Mishra chipping in with one apiece.
Meanwhile, Sunday Boys and Salcette SC recorded identical 2-1 win against PIFA Colaba and Bharat FC respectively. Aditya Rawat and Neel Kadam were bang on target for Sunday Boys while PIFA Colaba pulled one back through Veer Kamdar.
For Salcette SC , both the goals were scored by Kanish Jadhav, while Mitesh Baria struck the lone goal for Bharat FC.
