Showing an enormous hunger for scoring runs, talented 14-year-old schoolgirl Ira Jadhav demonstrated her batting prowess and skills by cracking an unbeaten 182 runs to guide Glorious Cricket Club to an emphatic 198-run victory against Regal Cricket Club in a third round ‘B’ Division match of the Mumbai Cricket Association organized MCA Women’s League 2024 and played at the Khar Gymkhana ground on Thursday.
Sent in to bat, Glorious CC batters, in particular the teenage opener Ira, continued in an aggressive fashion and dominated the rival bowling attack and hammered the bowlers to all corners of the park. Her humongous innings came from just 114 balls and was studded with 23 well-timed shots to the boundary ropes and nine well-timed sixes. Besides Ira’s effort, Jetsun Chee was the only other batter to contribute 27 runs. In reply, Regal CC were bowled out for 133 in 34.1 overs. The leading scorers was Harshal Jadhav 39 runs, Shrushti Naik 23 runs and Monika Tiwari 20 runs, while Glorious CC bowlers Karuna Ghare 2 for 21 and Bhargavi Patil 2 for 23 runs claimed the wickets.
In other matches, Sporting Union Club defeated Borivali CC won by six wickets and Dahisar SC handed J. Bhatia SC a 149-run defeat. Dahisar’s Radhika Thakkar also scored a century scoring an unbeaten 107 runs (77-balls, 16x4s, 2x6s) to power their win.
