Sarah stars in BombayScottish’s win


Sarah Arora played a stellar role in Bombay Scottish’s thrilling 2-1 win over St. Anne’ in the girls under-17 final of the DSO’s  (Divisional Sports Office)’s Mumbai city inter-school football tournament, organised by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at Worli Sports Club ground yesterday.

Earlier, in the semifinals, St Anne’s steamrolled their rival Shri Mamubai HS 10-0 while Bombay Scottish had to endure the tie-breaker against J.B.Petit before making the title round. However, with Sarah leading the attack, the Scottish girls  called the shots in the final. Sarah booted home two goals (10th, 36th), while Deniese Pereira netted home the other goal. St  Anne’s girls did put up spirited fight as they struck back soon after through Renee Talati. However,  the Scottish girls thwarted all their attempts to turn the tables.

 

Cathedral and John Connon, however, stopped Bombay Scottish’s good run,when they defeated them by a solitary goal, scored by Kyra Agarwal in the under-14 semifinals.
