Santacruz Gymkhana team was in great form in the team event of MIG Cricket Club Veterans Table Tennis Championship right from the beginning till the finals. In the 52 team event, they were 2nd seeded, because of the big names like Kiran Salian, Rajesh Singh, Rajesh Mudam and Navin Salian. But, Kiran Salian and Rajesh Mudam could not make themselves available, with Kiran Salian suffering from high fever. But, Rajesh Singh and Navin Salian took up the challenge and progressed with their consistent performance using the left and right hand combination very well in most crucial doubles matches.

Santacruz Gymkhana had a tough time defeating PJ Hindu Gymkhana ‘B’ team ; but winning the most crucial doubles match Rajesh and Naveen certainly proved better combination for their opponents Suhas and Jayant Kulkarni, who also had right and left hand combination. Both Rajesh and Naveen won their matches against Jayant Kulkarni, but the deciding 5th match Naveen brought the victory to his team.
In the team finals played against toughest century warriors team, Naveen once again played the star role, surprising top player and former international Sunil Babras in three straight games. Rajesh won the other singles against Sunil kelkar and once again Rajesh and Naveen proved that they were the best combination for doubles winning the third match and winning the team championship trophy.
