Lanky Sannvi Ghadge played a stellar role as Deccan (Pune) beat Vibgyor (Goregaon) 42-30 n a nerve tingling women’s semifinal of the NBA 16th Invitational State Level basketball tournament, at NNH’s floodlit courts last night. In a see-saw tie, in which fortunes swayed from quarter to quarter. Even in the last and deciding quarter, the Pune women were trailing 29-30 before Sannvi struck a purple patch just a few minutes from the final whistle , scoring fourth quick baskets, including two three-pointers to steer her side to victory. They take on Pooja Ajmera led- Bandra YMCA, who outplayed Indian Gymkhana earlier.

The action in the boys undere-21 semifinals saw Mastan YMCA dominating right through to beat Savio Club 63-44 to make the title round.
Though the Savio boys put up fighting display overall, matching their fancied rival for most part of the tie. However, all their good work was undone under the offensive basket. They missed chances galore, with Mastan boys putting up tight defence. The day served a double delight for Mastan YMCA as their under-16 boys packed off Decca (Pune) 70-60 to enter the final, too..
