Sanjay Mohite’s first break-to-finish


Sanjay Mohite of Vijay Carrom Club grabbed all the attention as he recorded the first break-to-finish during his straight games 25-13, 25-6 victory against Santosh Chavan of BEST Sports Club in a men’s singles first round match of the Rs 1.10 lakh prize-money 6th Muthoot Finance-Bombay YMCA Mumbai District Ranking Carrom Tournamnet- 2019, organized by Proctor YMCA and played at the Proctor YMCA branch, Agripada, Mumbai Central on Monday.

Meanwhile, in a keenly contested encounter, Supesh Kamtekar of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Bharat Parmar of Boricha Sports Club were engaged in a grim battle for supremacy and the match went the distance. Kamtekar came good when it mattered most and managed to scrape through winning in three hard-fought games at 12-25, 25-12 and 25-11 and advance to the second round.

 

In another interesting first round match, Ashok Kharat of BEST held his nerves to overcome Mihir Shaikh of Vijay CC coasting to a 25-11, 25-21 victory. However, Ashfaq Shaikh of Vijay CC had an easy first round as he blanked Vivek Joshi (AKF) 25-0, 25-0 to march into the second round.
