Samuel Football Academy staved off a spirited challenge from Village Amboli to snatch a close 2-1 in a Second Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League – 2014-15, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday evening. Nikhil Shetty (38th minute) and Shivam Gohil (44th) scored the goals for the young Samuel FA side while Village Amboli pulled one back through Dustin D’Costa in the 57th minute.
In another match of the same division, Ganesh Kedar’s 12th minute strike enabled BEST overcome Sporting Options by a narrow 1-0 margin.
