Salcette FC and Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) registered identical narrow 1-0 wins in their respective Third Division matches of the MDFA League 2017-2018 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Thursday.
In a scrappy encounter Salcette FC managed to overcome a 10-man Koli Boys by a solitary goal scored by Aditya Desphpande in the 35th minute. Referee Jagjeet Reen flashed the red card at Koli Boys medio Santosh Dhongde for violent conduct in the 28th minute. The referee, who kept the players under control, also booked Koustubh Vaity of Koli Boys in the 36th minute and four Salcette players — Jay Bhanushali (14th min), Pranav Chanaha (22nd), Meet Rathod (28th min) and Saurabh Salvi (37th min).
Meanwhile, Karnatak SA scored the all-important winner through Shubhash Shukla in the 45th minute to grab all the three points.
