Strong contenders SAI Shuttlers rallied after losing the opening singles before emerging a worthy 3-2 winners over CENSEO Smashers to virtually seal their spot in knockout semifinals of the 8-team 5th MCF-Badminton Premier League, at Mandpeshwar Civic Federation’s courts here last night.

SAI Shuttlers had rather an inauspicious start with their Hitesh Sampat going down to Kathan Shah in straight games. But their next doubles pair of pair of Vikas Shetty and Rupesh Katrodi and mixed doubles pair of Lalita Katre and Saurabh Salgaonkar saw that they did not slip any more. Their veteran pair of Sanjay Shah and Yash Bhatt outplayed their opponent with ease.After gaining a winning 3-1 lead, the fifth tie, saw Deep Udeshi and Rupesh Katrodia playing without any pressure as they went down to Amar Ainapure and Aditya Reddy 12-15, 15-12, 8-15.
In another tie, Badminton Snipers, after rather indifferent start, fought back to stay in hunt for a semi final berth with a 4-1 win over Maverick Squad.
