Sad demise of TT Referee C.A.Wakkar


Popular Table Tennis Chief Referee Chandrakant Wakkar is no more. He passed away on 27th December 2016 at his Fanaswadi, Girgaon residence.He was 85. Mr. Wakkar was not keeping well for the past few years. He is survived by his wife Snehalata, daughter Subhada and son Prasad. Prior to offering his services as a chief referee for Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association, Mr. Wakkar  played for his team MTNL and also won prizes in their inter circle meets.

Mr. Wakkar married Snehalata Desai, who was also a good table tennis player and she played at All India level. Speaking about her husband, Ms. Snehalata said that her husband was passionate about this game of table tennis and hence worked very hard for promoting this game for more than 25 years , by offering his services as a chief referee in most of the tournaments played all over the state. Former table tennis player and international TT Umpire Mr. V.K.Bhagnani, who first informed magzmumbai about his sad demise, called him the most dedicated and knowledgeble referee in the table tennis field. May his soul rest in peace.
