Rudra Dhandey played a long unblemished innings and cracked an unbeaten double century, 201, which was the highlight and his knock has placed MCA Colts in strong position at 328 for the loss of just three wickets in 60 overs against Islam Gymkhana in a second round Group-C league match of the 71st Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2018, sponsored Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd and played at the Islam Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Saturday.

After MCA Colts decided to bat, the opening bastman Dhandey showed great levels of concentration and managed to keep his cool in the hot humid condition during his marathon 185 balls innings which has consumed 240 minutes. He struck 25 boundaries and two sixes and looks good to score more runs as he returns fresh when play resumes tomorrow. Chinmay Suttar made a half century contribution of 58 runs and Pranav Kela was keeping Dhandey company with an unbeated 38 runs at draw of stumps.

 

Hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana have taken a strangle hold of the match against Cricket Club of India.  Electing to bat, Cricket Club of India were bowled out for a paltry 156 in 42.4 overs. Sujit Nayak (55 runs) was the only batsman to get some runs. For the policemen the wickets were scalped by Nitish Salekar (4/19), Chirag Khurana (2/13), Santosh Shinde  (2/45) and Rushikesh Jadhav (2/76). In reply Mumbai Police were placed at 18 for no loss in 6 overs with Rohit Pol and Sunil Patil batting on 11 and 7 respectively.
