Royston Veigas struck a brace of goals in leading in St. Gonsalo Garcia ‘A’, Vasai to fluent 3-0 win against St. Joseph’s, Juhu a first round Men’s match of the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana organized 31st Inter-Parish 5-a-side Rink Football Tournament – 2018 for the Victor D’Mello Trophy and played under floodlights at the gymkhana’s tennis courts. Veigas’ teammate Rakshit Pillai netted the third goal to seal Gonsalo Gracia’s win.
Meanwhile, St. Anne’s ‘A’, Bandra romped to an emphatic 6-0 win against St. Vincent Pallotti ‘B’, Marol in another first round encounter. The goals for the Bandra outfit were scored through Prakash Bisht’s double strikes and one each from Lazarus Swami, Nigel Swami, Rayan Gracious and Dylan Monteiro.
In the third match, Our Lady of Egypt ‘B’, Kalina overcame Divine Mercy, Bhayander 3-1. The Kalina scored scored through Pawan Rawat, Arun Patil and Bippin Rawat, while Prathmesh Kadam netted the lone goal for the Bhayander side.
