NSCI Badminton League (NBL)
Rajdhani Royals registered their first victory by defeating Roaring Racqueteers 3-2 in a close encounter in a round 2 match of the Yonex- Sunrise NSCI Badminton League (NBL), promoted by Sports Gurukul, hosted by NSCI and played at the NSCI badminton hall, Worli on Saturday.
Rajdhani Royal’s Bhojwani and Nikhil Bhansali started with a 21-18, 24-22 win over Roaring Racqueteers Sunil Seth and Shaival Javeri. In the second match, Rajasthan Royal’s Mayur Bhojwani and Kavita Jain defeated Vipul Sanghvi and Sejal Shah 21-13. 23-21 taking the lead to 2-0. Roaring Raqueteers staged a comeback by winning the next two games to level the scores. In the final game, Mayur Saraf and Ayush Golecha got the better of Ashish Jalan and Pavan Jain 21-7, 21- 17.
The game between Super smashers and King Shuttler started with Yash Golecha and Aksh Shah defeating Romit Nagpal and Naresh Mirpuri 21-14,22-20. The second match of mixed doubles was again dominated by the pair of Yamir Sanghvi and Nikita Thakkar defeating Charmi and Varun. 21-16. 21-04 and taking the lead to 2-0.
In the third game, King Shuttlers Suneet Kabra and Abhi Jain fought back defeating Awzl Jazn and Mrinal Trivedi 21-12, 21-18. In the fourth game, Super Smashers Ravi mal and Ritesh Gupta defeated Bimal Parikh and Sanket Gandhi stretching the lead by 3-1. In the final match, King Shuttlers Ronit Nagpal and Aritra Sarkar defeated Super Smashers Yash Golecha who was played again by the team using joker card and Sanjay Gandhi 23-21, 14-21, 15-12.
