Shubhojit Roy enjoyed smooth sailing and cruised to straight 4-0 win against Paresh Ghatad in the best-of-7-frame qualifying draw first round match of the ‘NSCI Baulkline 3.0’ All India Snooker Open 2024, organized by National Sports Club of India (NSCI) and played at the billiards hall, Worli on Saturday. The NSCI cueist Roy had things much his own way and charged to a 4-7, 69-2, 50-12 and 72-27 frame scores victory.
Ajinkya Yelve, a professional marker with NSCI, was also in top form and showed excellent touch as he constructed a break of 49 points in brushing aside Ajit Gharat winning in four quick frames 4-0 (59-16, 62-20, 76(49)-4, 49-40) to join Roy in the second round.
In another first round encounter, Dhawal Haria after losing the opening frame to Vishesh Sahagal, fought back and won the next four frames in succession to carve out a 4-1 (31-41, 57-16, 64-26, 66-30, 67-22) victory.
